Operations & Community Manager (Part-Time – 4-5 mornings or 2.5 Days on site):
Workshop – The Well Thought Workspace, Winchester, UK
Who We’re Looking For
Workshop is looking for someone to join the team who is customer-focused, confident and outgoing, reliable and flexible, with an eye for detail and a creative soul.
This role would suit an organised self-starter who values both structure and variety, someone who enjoys creating order, but thrives in a role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be comfortable switching between tasks throughout the day from front-of-house host, to events organiser, to hands-on problem solver and take pride in creating an environment that feels both professional and welcoming.
About Workshop
Workshop is a thriving coworking community in Winchester, home to 80+ freelancers, creatives and small businesses — a mix of fascinating individuals and growing companies, each with their own evolving story. The workspace is set within an elegant Georgian townhouse in the heart of the city centre, offering a calm, characterful environment that feels distinct from more corporate offices. We’ve built a space that is thoughtful, friendly and well-run where people enjoy coming to work, and where community genuinely matters.
The Role
This is a hands-on, varied role combining community management, workspace operations and events programming. You’ll play a central role in the daily life of Workshop ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, while creating a positive and engaging experience for members. You’ll also work closely with a part-time management team responsible for commercial strategy, marketing and communications, and sales targets, helping to bring ideas to life on the ground.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Community & Member Experience
Be the welcoming face of Workshop — meeting and supporting members and visitors
Build strong relationships and help foster a collaborative, inclusive atmosphere
Deliver tours and onboard new members
Respond to day-to-day queries and support the community
Workspace Operations
Keep the space running smoothly and looking its best
Manage front-of-house during on-site hours
Handle mail and deliveries
Maintain shared spaces (kitchen, meeting rooms, common areas)
Manage supplies and coordinate cleaning and service providers
Events (Community & Growth)
Events are central to how Workshop brings people together and grows.
You’ll shape and deliver an events programme that balances:
Community & Retention
Regular events that bring members together (socials, learning lunches, informal gatherings)
Creating moments of connection and energy within the space
Growth & Lead Generation
Events that introduce new people to Workshop
Collaborating with local partners, speakers and businesses
Supporting the journey from attendee to member
Delivery
Managing the events calendar
Coordinating logistics, setup and hosting
Promoting events in collaboration with the marketing team
Tracking attendance and sharing insights
Membership & Administration
Manage member accounts using our coworking software
Handle membership changes, renewals and bookings
Respond to enquiries and coordinate tours
Support light invoicing and admin processes
Facilities & Compliance
Keep an eye on the building and flag maintenance needs
Coordinate contractors and small repairs
Carry out basic compliance checks
Help maintain a safe, well-functioning environment
What Success Looks Like
Members feel welcome, supported and part of something
The space runs smoothly and looks consistently high-quality
Events are well-attended, enjoyable and purposeful
Events contribute to a steady flow of new enquiries and members
Strong collaboration with the wider team to support growth and occupancy
Working Pattern - there can be some flexibility here but the role will generally require you to be on site in the mornings.
2.5 days per week (onsite, could be 4 or 5 mornings)
Occasional evening events
